From March 25 to 27, at the invitation of the University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology (UMUST), and Macau Drug Administration (MDA), a delegation of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the University, Vice President Yao Hequan and his entourage visited Macau. During the visit, the delegation attended the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the University of Science and Technology of Macao, held talks with the Macao Alumni Association, and organized a seminar on talent policy. Relevant directors from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office and Institute of Science and Technology accompanied the delegation.
The visit mainly focused on talent cultivation, scientific and technological cooperation, industry-university-research cooperation, etc., aiming at consolidating the cooperation in education and scientific research between the University and Macao's universities and government departments. At the University of Macau, the delegation was warmly received by the Vice President of the University, Mr. Ma Xuwang, and the two sides exchanged views on mutual visits of faculty members and talent cultivation programs of mutual interest, and then the delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research of Traditional Chinese Medicines accompanied by Mr. Lu Jiahong, Vice President of the Institute of Chinese Medicine of the University.
At Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), Yao Hequan and his delegation attended the 25th Anniversary Ceremony of MUST, and then held talks with Jiang Zhihong, Vice President of MUST, on the development of collaborative education programs and joint declaration of major scientific research projects between the two sides, which laid a good foundation for further cooperation between the two universities.
In the meantime, the delegation visited the Macao Drug Administration and had a meeting with its Director, Mr. Choi Ping Cheong, to systematically understand the drug regulatory system and practical experience in the Macao region. Yao Hequan highlighted the construction of the National University Biomedical Regional Technology Transfer and Conversion Center (Nanjing, Jiangsu Province) and the Jiangbei Innovation Center of China Pharmaceutical University, and the two sides will carry out in-depth industry-university-research cooperation in the future with the transformation of scientific and technological achievements as the target point.
During their stay in Macau, Yao Hequan and his delegation also visited Macau Alumni Association and had a cordial talk with the alumni in Macau; they also held a talent recruitment seminar to introduce the development of the university and its talent recruitment policy, which attracted scholars and students in the field of biomedicine in Macau and effectively enhanced the visibility of the university.
The visit not only deepened the connection between the university and the educational and scientific research institutions in Macao but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation and development. With the deepening of exchanges and cooperation with the Macao region, the university will continue to utilize its advantages to contribute to the cultivation of more high-quality pharmacy talents with an international outlook and make new and greater contributions to the development of the pharmaceutical field.
